now, i like music a lot. and if you've read my bio before, that should be perfectly clear.
but i've not just made a top 20 music list. oh boy, i've gone way further now... but before that, how about we take a trip down memory lane, and see my old top 20 songs that come from my HALL OF FAME playlist?
20.
Enemy Retreating (from
UTY) - of course it's gonna be here. it was a bit difficult to put it down this low, though... it's not bad, it's just the rest of these songs are so much more of a banger.
19.
Fatality (originally from the FNF mod
Vs. Sonic.exe, apparently in its own mod, song by
Saster) - probably one of my favourite FNF songs, both in charting and song! it's short, but also snappy!
18.
World's End Valentine (from
OMORI) - to all OMORI fans, this should be obvious. just listen to the song, i ain't gonna explain this one.
17.
Guns Blazing (from
UTY) - Axis thinks the song is too distracting, but i love it either way.
16.
the kitty city! (remix of "
meowtropolis", originally by
vivivivivi, remix by
cirawakalong) - probably one of my favourite songs from cirawakalong, even if it is just a remix!
15.
It Go (by
answearingmachine, revised version used in
A Dance of Fire and Ice) - if you know DehydratedWater lore, you know i've listened to It Go so many times that i'm just basically forced to love it. not that that's a bad thing though!
14.
Starless Supernova (from
ALLIUM ASYLUM) - one of many excellent soundtracks from ALLIUM ASYLUM! go check the OST, it'll be worth a listen!
13.
A GAME THEORY (epic remix of "
BIG SHOT" by
Aduckted) - this tribute to MatPat is just so well-made with so many little references, that there's no way a Game Theory fan can't at least appreciate the song here!
12.
You Cannot Go Back (from
OMORI) - the main reason this song's so high up is because of
that one part11.
Jazzy Juice (by
KingSammelot) - probably my favourite song with lyrics, just above YuB's "I am Not Me"! it's so catchy and-- agh- UAUGUGHUHGUAHUGHGAUH
10. Shploink Overdose (by
KingSammelot) - okay this one is just a fucking bop and you can NOT deny that.
9. CIWSDASE (from FNF: VS. CAMELLIA BONUS) - this song absolutely needed vocals, because without them it feels kinda empty. thankfully, BF fits the bill for this song perfectly, and makes the song some of the best!
8. Silly Billy (from the FNF mod
Hit Single Real) - don't act surprised. by the way, my favourite part is from 3:21, becoming PEAK sb at 3:32 up to 3:43.
7. VOIDSIDE SWORDFIGHT (by
AZALI) - i-- i don't even know. i just like the song. listen. piano and accordian and violin go brrrrrrr.
6. No Facade (from
ALLIUM ASYLUM) - i like when guitar go brr. okay but seriously, i love the guitars in this song!
5. Plok! Boss (OVERDRIVE MIX) (originally from
Plok!, remixed by
Miketama) - think of music from Plok!. okay, now combine that with DOOM Eternal, and this is basically what you get. in the best way possible. oh my fucking god, the drop that reveals the true song fucking sends shivers down my spine every time, it is just THAT good.
4. Queen Battle Original (
unused from Deltarune) - i get where Toby Fox is coming from, but he literally decided to make the biggest fucking bop and basically said 'nah this is too good' lmao
3. Hopes and Dreams (from
Undertale) - if you need me to explain why Hopes and Dreams is good, you might need to see a doctor.
2. Power of SPAMTON (
unused from Deltarune) - i fucking loved POWER OF NEO, and i was always so sad that it was cut so short. so having an OFFICIAL EXTENSION of this BANGER just makes me so happy!
1. Tenebre Rosso Sangue (from ULTRAKILL) - first, it was a close second to Altars of Apostasy, then it was a tie, and here we are now, Altars of Apostasy dethroned by this. the current hardest level in the game, with the song that fittingly goes the hardest. when you die on P-2 with this song playing, you feel humiliated. but when you succeed through a room, possibly even P-ranking the level, with this song... you feel like a fucking god. an unstoppable force, capable of anything. this is like Altars of Apostasy, if it was on performance-enhancing drugs, also known as
steroids. lots. and lots. of steroids. and i'm all for it. this is not just peak ULTRAKILL. it is more than that. this is
peak FPS music.Inbetween songs (songs that would fit inbetween positions on the list {no coloured numbers because fuck yuo}):
12.5.
Mudroads (from
BLOCK TALES) - just a happy, little, energetic bop. this song may not be anything interesting which is why it's so low, but i love it so much i even made a remix of it! maybe i'll post that someday, i dunno.
7.5.
Sentient Statue (from
BLOCK TALES) - this is probably the most ULTRAKILL-sounding soundtrack in BLOCK TALES, but that's not its defining factor; its defining factor is sheer epicness. and it goes HARD, just like how hard that fucking statue hits jesus christ
7.25.
Komodo Dragon (from
BLOCK TALES) - wow, a third BLOCK TALES OST in a row! this one, just like Sentient Statue, fits really well with the threat involved. it also has a really nice hook to it, and uhh... that's all i can really think of lmao
6.5.
The Iron Cafe (from
BLOCK TALES) - huh, another one... uh, this one's defining quality is just being a fucking bop. i don't know how to describe it. especially the lyrics, literally one of the lyrics is i think "brownies brownies" and yet it's so iconic that i can't not include it in the list.
5.5.
War Without Reason (from
ULTRAKILL) - iconic drums, alarm sound that goes hard as fuck, and just overall a banger. i don't know why i didn't add this in earlier... i guess... you could say... i had
no reason to not add this sooner...
3.5.
Hatred (from
BLOCK TALES) - okay that's enough BLOCK TALES OSTs. (spoilers for BLOCK TALES Chapter 3 lol) this one is associated with the final boss of Chapter 3, and my oh my, was it a surprise. the boss was suffering, but this music more than made up for it. if you listen to previous OSTs, you may notice snippets of Hatred in other OSTs. that's really fucking cool and that just makes me appreciate BLOCK TALES as a whole even more than i already had
2.5.
Cosmic Eternity ~ Believe in Yourself {jesus christ that is a long song name} (from
Sonic CD) - 3 words. peak Sonic CD. four technically, but whatever. in extension, if the lyrics of your song send a (good) chill down my spine, that means you've made peak lyrics. and that's what has exactly been done here. and oh my fucking god, "you've got to have some faith in yourself if you want respect from your friends" might be one of the best lyrics of all time (in combination with the line before that to make the rhyming work lmao).
1.5.
WAR (from
ULTRAKILL) - yet another amazing addition to the legendary P-2. amazing, climatic, and probably its best feature is the intro for it. it really does feel like you're about to fight against a god (even though you don't but you know what i mean). if P-2 offers not one, but TWO peak songs, one of them being the most peak, then i can only imagine what P-3, and possibly another Prime Sanctuum like P-E, has to offer.
1.25.
ORDER (from
ULTRAKILL) - i thought the prime bosses' themes deserved some respect. WAR is just
slightly worse than ORDER, just by the TINIEST bit of an inch. the problem people usually have with WAR is that it's pretty in-your-face, but i don't mind that actually. the only reason i ranked ORDER up higher is because of how
emotional it feels. especially the fucking part where the 2-2 (i think?) motif comes in, as a reminder that Minos Prime is doing this for the city he himself created, and his corpse was forced to destroy. (non-ULTRAKILL players ain't gonna understand shit for this lmao)
Dethroned songs (no matter their previous value on the list):
1. Altars of Apostasy (from ULTRAKILL) - okay. i'mma be honest. in my opinion, this is probably objectively one of the best songs i've ever heard in my life. i literally can't think of a way to improve it. it's just so epic, satisfying, climatic, and just about everything you would want from the ULTRAKILL OST.
this. is. peak. ULTRAKILL. and my mind hasn't changed. this is still peak. but Tenebre Rosso Sangue... is
PEAKER.Honourable mentions (not gonna provide links but they're all in my
HALL OF FAME playlist anyways):
Emotional Funk (specifically the original) by PGHLFilms - this song was originally in the list, for being both chill and a bop at the same time. but after remembering that he sent gore to someone, and also Plok! Boss (OVERDRIVE MIX) just absolutely destroying 3 quarters of the competition, i knew i had to knock it off the list. (by the way, the second part of the reason was more of the reason than the first part. i know, 'separate art from the artist'. i still like the song, but the controversy certainly didn't help along with the OVERDRIVE MIX of Plok!'s boss theme barging into the list.)
Win the Race by iteachvader - an instant classic. it's really catchy and memorable, but the reason the song isn't on the list because of how much its quality contrasts with the rest. it's good, but not THAT good.
2006 storm alert from the fucking Weather Channel??? by who the fuck knows - i... yeah. i'm not kidding. whoever composed this went the fuck off with the alert and makes it feel like an actual threat is arriving. why is this not on the list? well, it doesn't exactly fit my taste of music, while still being good to my ears. it's more akin to Kingdom Hearts than, say, ALLIUM ASYLUM. also i used Kingdom Hearts as an example because there's literally a quiz on whether the music is from the Weather Channel or from Kingdom Hearts. i am not kidding.
i sure do hope all of these urls work because i've worked on this section for 3 fucking hours (3 hours? hah. pathetic.)
gotten that dose of nostalgia now? well, get ready for a MASSIVE, HEART-PUMPING DOSE OF ESTROGE-- UH I MEAN DOPAMINE, BECAUSE WE'RE RANKING 100 SONGS, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!
but i am NOT including links this time. this list is probably gonna be over 70000 characters long by the time i finish it, i don't want it to be 10000 characters more.
DISCLAIMER: This ranking contains opinions. You may agree with them, you may not. This ranking is designed not with the intention to anger any specific user. With that out of the way, time for some dopamine!
...also I'm switching to proper grammar for this section because fuck you.
Also also, these will be ranked based on preference, rather than objective quality. So, some statistics may contradict each other.
Also also also, last thing I promise, the way this'll work is that the ranking will be split into several top 10s; one for different franchises. The reason why I'm doing it like this is because I TRIED to rerank the songs in my HALL OF FAME playlist in a top 25, but it was an absolute mess, likely due to the quality of the songs REALLY blending together, and the sheer size of the playlist (Note that the original list was back when the playlist had, like, I assume around 50 songs. The playlist has over doubled in size since then.), so I'm splitting the ranking into more digestible top 10s, for the sake of my sanity. The songs do
not need to be in my HALL OF FAME playlist. I will also not put playlist links for franchises, if you wanna check out the OSTs literally just look it up on YouTube. Literally cannot be that hard.
Well, unless you're
Callie Acrylic.Welp, let's get started!
FIRST OF MANY // MISCELLANEOUS COMPOSERS
#10
One Forgotten Night
SONG LENGTH -- 2:49 (#5)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Quree
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, CHILL (?)
DESCRIPTION -- And so, the madness begins. One thing I really like about OFN is just the use of the piano, one of my favourite instruments next to the saxophone. And it just feels so calm and yet it keeps you awake throughout the song. It does what it needs to perfectly, but I'd be lying if I said there weren't better songs.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 8/10

#9
CITRUS!
SONG LENGTH -- 4:11 (#2)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- lianhua
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY, EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- I was constantly refreshing the recommended songs section of my HALL OF FAME playlist on my phone, until I found this song. The key words kinda just sum it up, it's fast, it's got a funky groove, I like it! I'll probably see more of lianhua's works in the future, because what they made here's cool!

AEROPHOBIA
SONG LENGTH -- 2:26 (#8)
CREATOR(S) NAME --
CiraKEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- The drums go insanely hard, and I LOVE the part where the new melody kicks in, AND it's got a really good flow, why else would I have made not just a Beatblock chart, but TWO osu!mania charts for this song? But yeah, besides that, not much more to add!
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 9/10
PERSONAL RATING :: 9/10
#7
Heracles (Extended)
SONG LENGTH -- 3:35 (#3)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Yooh
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Probably one of my favourite songs in A Dance of Fire and Ice, and for good reason! It's fast, it's got a really neat rhythm to it, and most of all, it's epic as hell! Oh yeah, speaking of ADOFAI, I regret to inform you that It Go will not be in this ranking. I deeply apologise.

#6
DINNER!
SONG LENGTH -- 2:17 (#9)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Femtanyl
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- I'm gonna be honest, despite it being one of the more popular songs (#5 most popular on Femtanyl's channel) out of Femtanyl's discography, I can't say I'm ALL over this song. It's pretty damn good, it's got a memorable tune, the lyrics are actually hearable, and it's got a good beat, and that last part, OOH that hits hard, but to say it's the best in her entire discography would definitely be an overexaggeration.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 9/10

#5
'BOSS' - Plok! (OVERDRIVE MIX)
SONG LENGTH -- 2:44 (#7)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- KETSU!
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- My opinion on this song hasn't changed since the first ranking; still a fucking banger, still basically if you combined Plok's music with DOOM ETERNAL's. The drop? Still fucking phenomenal, holy shit. The instrumentation? Perfect. The drums? Oh, hochi mama, I love them immensely. If you like the Follins' work, I DEFINITELY recommend listening to this.

We Could Get More Machinegun Psystyle! -And More Genre Switches-
SONG LENGTH -- 5:26 (#1)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Camellia
KEY WORDS -- REALLY-FAST-PACED, HAHA-FUNNY-SONG, EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- Ah, Camellia. One of the EDM artists of all time. Anyways this song is fucking awesome. It is epic incarnate. And somehow, despite literally switching genres, it perfectly keeps its flow balanced, with a super memorable tune (maaaybe because it's an inside joke between me and my older brother but whatever), and really quick tempos!
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 10/10

#2
M3 n MIN3
SONG LENGTH -- 2:12 (#10)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Femtanyl, Danny Brown
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Now this song barely scrapes #15 in Femtanyl's videos for popularity, and honestly I don't see why. It's quick, it's got a perfect flow, and a really awesome melody! I even made an ADOFAI chart because I liked the song that much, you can see a video of the chart on my YouTube channel!

LORELEI
SONG LENGTH -- 3:27 (#4)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Camellia
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC (starting to notice a pattern?)
DESCRIPTION -- Ah, Camellia. One of the EDM artists of all time. Huh? What do you mean I already said this? Anyways, yeah this song goes hard as fuck. Really memorable parts as always, and it's just got a sick beat to it. The second half especially, that shit's amazing. I definitely recommend giving this a listen if you like yourself some electronic dance music! Fucking hate the triangle section on its "official" ADOFAI chart though.

Mudroads
SONG LENGTH -- 1:01 (#10)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Campyfire
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, CHILL
DESCRIPTION -- I kinda just really like this song. It's so cheery and energetic, and that's mostly why I love it so much! The speeding up, like my god, without it this song wouldn't be nearly as good as it is.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 8/10
PERSONAL RATING :: 9/10
#8
Noobador
SONG LENGTH -- 3:11 (#2)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Campyfire
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- 13 songs in and I'm already running out of unique things to say. It might just be because while BLOCK TALES' OST is a fucking bop, it's not nearly as good as OSTs like DELTARUNE, at least on average. However, this song's still pretty dang good, and fits the character whose theme it belongs to really well!
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 8/10
PERSONAL RATING :: 9/10
#7
Green & Purple Noobs
SONG LENGTH -- 2:01 (#7)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Campyfire
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- I don't know why it feels so cheery for a fight against abusive parents, but it's still really cool! It's got a nice beat, and I like the incorporation of Red and Blue's theme in the background!

PERSONAL RATING :: 9/10
#6
Sentient Statue
SONG LENGTH -- 1:48 (#8)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Campyfire
KEY WORDS -- EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- This is probably the most ULTRAKILL-like song in the OST, and it really gives off the feeling that you're gonna fucking die. It's got a really banger beat to it, and feels really threatening while also really fucking epic.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 9/10

Bubonic Plant
SONG LENGTH -- 2:45 (#3)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Campyfire
KEY WORDS -- EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- I'm pretty sure I did the entire Demo 2 boss solo on my first try somehow. In other words, yeah it's yet another epic song. What can I say, I just like epic songs! (God I'm running out of things to say please help) That Hatred motif though... when I realised that, I fucking lost my mind. That is clever as fuck.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 10/10

Komodo Dragon
SONG LENGTH -- 2:08 (#6)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- nicopatty
KEY WORDS -- EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- This song both shows how much of a threat the Komodo Dragon is, while still having a really nice beat and being super memorable! I especially like this song, but one stands above them all...
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 10/10
PERSONAL RATING :: 10.5/10
#1
Hatred
SONG LENGTH -- 4:22 (#1)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- nicopatty
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- I'm really glad that the #1 song isn't made by Campyfire, because a month or two ago it was found out that he was a pedophile... yeah... and yes, I know, separate art from the artist, but it does really annoy me that 7 of these songs here are by Campyfire, so gladly this peak was made by nicopatty. In other words, I really like how it switches between dreadful hopelessness, and the fact that you could make it through this! And both sections are REALLY FUCKING GOOD! If this were an UNDERTALE song, it'd probably only lose to Hopes and Dreams, but my god is it a close second. That melody... I fucking love it. Please, listen to this song. It's peak.

THIRD // ULTRAKILL
#10
The Cyber Grind
SONG LENGTH -- 5:06 (#6)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- meganeko
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC (I just started to copy-paste this combo from here

)
DESCRIPTION -- Right off the bat, an immediate 10/10. This song perfectly encapsulates the feeling that ULTRAKILL's gameplay provides, and is epic incarnate. It somehow switches between so many styles without feeling like a different song, it's just... holy shit. And this is #10, by the way.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 10/10

#9
Deep Blue
SONG LENGTH -- 5:22 (#5)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her (Hakita)
KEY WORDS -- CHILL, FAST-PACED, EPIC, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- When I started listening to this song for writing this description, I kinda just... looked at the ceiling for the first section. Something about the calmer sections feels so... mystical? I believe that's the right word. That being said, the breakcore sections are fucking INSANE. And that SAXOPHONE, HOLY FUCK. This song literally made the saxophone my favourite instrument to listen to, that's how good it is. It's really got a really nice mix of chill and epic, and that's all I have to say!
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 10/10

Versus
SONG LENGTH -- 4:12 (#8)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- Again. Epic incarnate. It really does feel like V2's theme when you fight her for the first time, but when you get better at the game, it becomes YOUR theme, because YOU'RE the superior one. I really like that feeling the song gives off! And that guitar... I want that. Please give more of that guitar.

War Without Reason
SONG LENGTH -- 6:49 (#2)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Amazing. It feels sorta emotional in a way, which fits with the Violence layer, but in a more sinister way, which fits the massive ''threat'' that is the Earthmover. And that security system section? I don't know why, but it just does feel real threatening. Oh, and don't even get me started on the ALARM! HOLY FUCK, THE ALARM SECTION GOES SO FUCKING HARD
WITHOUT FOR NO REASON! If you don't know what I mean... please. Listen to the song. And of course, that final section with the guitar goes beautifully hard as fuck. I
heavily recommend this song.

In Absentia ΛΟΓΟΣ
SONG LENGTH -- 4:17 (#7)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- While I am a bit sad that we're moving away from breakcore, I perfectly understand why this is happening, and honestly, this is really not that much worse! (Though making the encore songs for this breakcore would actually be pretty cool, and would emphasise the idea of what the encore levels are.) I really love how this song perfectly incorporates the 5/4 and 7/4 time signatures without losing balance, and that guitar drone at the drop, oh my GOD! That... that gives me the feels, holy fuck. Hearing this song now only makes me more excited to play Fraud's layer when it arrives! God, I can only imagine how it'll play... and how fucking good the music will be!

Dead Heat Pulse
SONG LENGTH -- 3:16 (#10)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- This perfectly gives the feeling that you're gonna fucking die if you don't book it, the feeling that everything's gonna fall apart, and everything is now in chaos! And that 6/8 section, HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT. I made a partial ADOFAI chart for this song, using the DLC-exclusive triple planet tile for the 6/8 part, and it just made me love the part even more. So when I say all that, would you believe me when I said everything else is basically JUST AS GOOD AS THAT PART?? LIKE HOLY SHIT. PLEASE LET 2-E AND 3-E HAVE THE BEST SONGS EVER, HAKITA.

Altars of Apostasy
SONG LENGTH -- 5:42 (#4)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, SENDING-GOOSEBUMPS-YOUR-WAY
DESCRIPTION -- I think you already know that I fucking LOVE this song. Such a perfect climax song to Act 2 right before the boss level, and that KEY CHANGE, OH MY GOD IT GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS EVERYTIME I HEAR IT. And that last section... if that isn't epic I don't know what is. Please, please please PLEASE, listen to this song. I couldn't recommend it more.

WAR
SONG LENGTH -- 6:26 (#3)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, GODLIKE
DESCRIPTION -- While WAR is not nearly as emotionally peak as ORDER, I feel like that's literally the only thing that makes ORDER better than WAR. Because holy fuck, WAR goes SO FUCKING HARD. AND THAT INTRO. That intro... is probably the best fucking intro to any song in existence that I've ever heard. It really does feel like you're about to face your biggest challenge yet, and when you get to this part while P-ranking the level, you feel like a fucking GOD, and that's going to be the same case with another song later down this list. In my heart ORDER is better, but in my guts WAR will always be the superior one. I don't know how the fuck Hakita is gonna top this with P-3, but I am really fucking excited for what he'll have in store!

ORDER
SONG LENGTH -- 7:01 (#1)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- Heaven Pierce Her
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, EMOTIONAL
DESCRIPTION -- What a beautifully crafted song. Every part flows perfectly, and that build-up to the 2-2 motif section... it only makes it infinitely better. Oh yeah, the 2-2 motif section! HOLY FUCK. IT IS SO FUCKING GOOD. It shows Minos' care for his city, and it's just-- AHHH IT'S SO GOOD! Again, while in my guts WAR will always be superior, in my heart ORDER is the best of the two. Hakita, keep cooking with these.

Tenebre Rosso Sangue
SONG LENGTH -- 3:54 (#9)
CREATOR(S) NAME -- ULTRACHURCH
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, EPIC, EPIC, EPIC, CLIMATIC, GODLIKE
DESCRIPTION -- My opinion has not changed. This song is still one of the best songs I've ever heard in any action/shooter game. Again, when you're going through this normally, you feel like you're gonna be stuck here for eternity, suffering forever, but when you're P-ranking the level? When you're slicing through all the enemies? You. Feel. Like. A. God. And I love that about this song. I fucking adore it. I'll be genuinely flabbergastered if Hakita manages to top this, because ironically, the best ULTRAKILL song is not made by Hakita... for now.

FOURTH // UNDERTALE
#10
Stronger Monsters
SONG LENGTH -- 1:03 (#10)
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY, FAST-PACED
DESCRIPTION -- Nice and simple, it's a great alternative version of Enemy Approaching, and it's got a nice tune to it! It's got a really weird outro though, one that I personally don't really like all that much... but besides that, it's just... pretty good! Yeah!
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 8/10
PERSONAL RATING :: 9/10
#9
Spear of Justice
SONG LENGTH -- 1:55 (#8)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- It's aggressive, it's epic, it perfectly fits Undyne for her theme! I just really like the epicness of this song, and that'll continue to be the case with one of her other songs later on... (Yeah, I'm obviously talking about She's Playing Piano.)
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 9/10
PERSONAL RATING :: 9/10
#8
MEGALOVANIA
SONG LENGTH -- 2:36 (#6)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- It's a pretty dang good song, and I feel like everyone knows that already. This somehow unbreakable song has to be popular for SOME reason, and honestly? I think it's fair enough that it gets this amount of fame, I just wish some other songs got the same treatment, like songs #6, #4, and #3 on this list. Anyhoo, this song is still great, as much as it is overrated! And honestly, maybe I just haven't listened to it enough, but it hasn't really gotten old for me yet! Or maybe it's just been so long since I last listened to it. It's probably that.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 9/10

#7
CORE
SONG LENGTH -- 2:46 (#3)
KEY WORDS -- EPIC, FUNKY, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Easily the best area theme in the game, it really gives the technological vibe and also being threatening at the same time! It really does feel like you're at the CORE of the Underground with this music. And ooh, those background instruments really make the song that much better! Great song, I really recommend giving this a listen if you somehow haven't already!
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 10/10

#6
Death by Glamour
SONG LENGTH -- 2:14 (#7)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- Probably the third-best battle theme on the Neutral route, and for good reason. That second and third melody, oh my god, they could not go HARDER if they TRIED, it fits Mettaton to every extent PERFECTLY! Honestly, I don't know why I don't have this song in my HALL OF FAME already. Actually, you know what? I'll add it to my HALL OF FAME playlist right fucking now! Yeah, this is peak.

Undertale
SONG LENGTH -- 6:21 (#1)
KEY WORDS -- EMOTIONAL, CLIMATIC, I'M-GONNA-FUCKING-CRY
DESCRIPTION -- While Hopes and Dreams might be the best song UNDERTALE has to offer, I do wholeheartedly believe this song is where Toby Fox cared the most about UNDERTALE. The sheer emotion that comes from this song is beautiful, and even now, it makes me shed a tear. I wish I could say more about this song, I really do, but you'd honestly be better off listening to the song yourself.
You will not regret it.
I promise.

ASGORE
SONG LENGTH -- 2:36 (#5) (Huh, MEGALOVANIA and ASGORE are the same length... probably a coincidence, but a strange one at that.)
KEY WORDS -- EPIC, CLIMATIC, EMOTIONAL
DESCRIPTION -- Man, what an underrated gem of a song. It does feel like a song for a final boss, but it also respectfully allows space for the later final bosses to truly shine. Of course, that does not mean ASGORE is a bad song; quite the contrary, actually! It's really great! I hope we get a returning version of this theme soon in DELTARUNE...

#3
Battle Against a True Hero
SONG LENGTH -- 2:36 (#4) (Oh hey, ASGORE and BAaTH are the same length! That's... actually pretty neat, coincidence or not!)
KEY WORDS -- EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- In basic terms, this is Spear of Justice but improved in every aspect. It's epicer than ever, it's more climatic than ever, and it's no longer Undyne's theme; it's YOURS. I don't really know how I could really describe how truly great this song is, so how about you just give it a listen? It'll be worth your time.

Finale
SONG LENGTH -- 1:52 (#9)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, GODLIKE
DESCRIPTION -- So after the hopelessness that was Your Best Nightmare, that hopelessness idea suddenly flips on its head and becomes probably one of the most hopeful songs in UNDERTALE, with one of the best climaxes I've ever heard in a videogame song, like HOLY SHIT. Those ornaments to the melody REALLY add to the sheer greatness that is this song. Probably one of my favourite songs... but of course, you know what's coming out on top.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 10/10

#1
Hopes and Dreams
SONG LENGTH -- 3:01 (#2)
KEY WORDS -- Just listen to the song, you know it'll be worth doing.
DESCRIPTION -- This song is exactly what UNDERTALE needed. A perfectly flowing, emotional, yet epic battle theme, and let's not forget that Doctor motif piano... ah, you'd think that's my favourite part, right? Well, no actually. The part after is, with the Your Best Friend Motif. Just something about that section, it feels so awesome despite its simplicity... of course, none of the other parts have much less of said awesomeness, just that one part does it the best for me. If you somehow,
somehow, haven't listened to this song, I heavily, and I mean
HEAVILY recommend listening to it. As the key words said, it'll be worth doing.
OBJECTIVE RATING :: 12/10

CRESCENDO // SONIC CD

#10
Metalic Madness Past
SONG LENGTH -- 2:31 (#9)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- I mostly like it because of the intro, but the solos are pretty great! It fits well for the past, still being one of Robotnik's works, but yet to be finalised. That's all I really got, it's just a pretty good song!

Quartz Quadrant
SONG LENGTH -- 3:44 (#1)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- Aaand we're already at the 10/10s! I really love the call and response used in this song, and the drums too, just cutting through everything! It's just a great, mostly cheerful song, and I like it very much for that! But it's left something even greater behind, as can be seen by its past...

DESCRIPTION -- Man, that solo. That's probably my favourite part of CD's JP OST: the improvisational solos. They are always so good... and the song overall's kinda just chill. I recommend giving it a listen!

Special Stage Theme // Menu Theme
SONG LENGTH -- 3:39 (#2)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- This theme fits perfectly both as the game's special stage theme, and as the game's menu theme. It captures the strangeness of the special stages really well, while also capturing the magic that is Sonic CD just as well! I don't know who made the decision to have this song double as the menu theme, but they DEFINITELY cooked with that idea. And of course, the song is great as always, an absolute vibe!

Palmtree Panic Good Future
SONG LENGTH -- 2:59 (#5)
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY-AS-FUCK-FOR-ONE-SOLO, HAPPI :3
DESCRIPTION -- Now I'm not usually all for overly cheerful songs, but that fucking PIANO SOLO, OH MY GOD... it makes listening to the whole song way more than worth it. (For some reason, the solo reminds me of
Cira?) And as cheerful as it is, it is still a really great song, only made significantly better by that solo, like, hot DAMN!

Wacky Workbench Bad Future
SONG LENGTH -- 3:00 (#4)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- If I were to describe this song in specifically 7 words, I'd describe it with "theme of hell if hell was awesome". It's super aggressive, and it's got some hellish elements, especially with one of the background instruments! 'Tis a great song, and really emphasises the BAD in Bad Future!

DESCRIPTION -- One of the fastest songs in the OST, so of course I'm gonna like it! It's intense, it's got a really cool beat to it, and it's got really memorable melodies, especially with the dotted notes! I just really like the song, what more is there to say?

KEY WORDS -- FUNKY, GODLIKE
DESCRIPTION -- The first time I heard this song, it felt like I was fucking ascending. This song is... amazing. Definitely THE best Good Future track, holy fucking shit. It does feel like you've vastly improved the place in every way possible, because the music reflects that perfectly. And it's not even that far behind the Bad Future variant! Speaking of which...

KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Welp, you all saw it coming. It had to be SOMEWHERE on this list, so here it is! You hear this no matter what when you're racing against Metal Sonic, and it really does fit that race well. A race to the finish line, to find out which Sonic is REALLY the fastest thing alive. And of course, the song is amazing. I feel that goes without saying, but yeah, it's an absolute fucking bop. DEFINITELY recommend!

Cosmic Eternity ~ Believe in Yourself
SONG LENGTH -- 3:02 (#3)
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY, CLIMATIC, I'M-GONNA-FUCKING-CRY
DESCRIPTION -- I sure do hope "Cosmic Eternity" is just a part of the song name and isn't the band/group who made the song! Anyways, PEAK PEAK PEAK. HOLY FUCK. PEAK. I LOVE this song. One of the very few mind you, songs with lyrics that I actually really like! And I'm gonna be honest, "You've got to have some faith in yourself if you want respect from your friends" is probably one of the best lyrics I've ever heard. That just... that just hits so incredibly hard. What an incredible song to end off Sonic CD with.

CLIMAX // DELTARUNE
Now Deltarune is a bit of a weird case, because its OST is currently over 1.6 times bigger than UNDERTALE's OST, and is significantly more consistent with good songs, so I've decided to split this section into 4 top 10s; one for each chapter. That way, each chapter will have fair and equal treatment!

KEY WORDS -- EPIC, TENSE
DESCRIPTION -- I don't know how, but Toby

Field of Hopes and Dreams
SONG LENGTH -- 2:41 (#1)
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY, EPIC, OH-MY-GOD-IT'S-SO-PEAK
DESCRIPTION -- You know, all that time we had Chapter 2 before Chapters 3 and 4, I had forgotten how peak Field of Hopes and Dreams was... so I'm so fucking glad the UT+DR Terraria Music Pack brought it back to attention for me. Holy fuck, just... everything. Everything is so well-composed. Not a single flaw. Especially when you singalong with the Don't Forget lyrics for some parts, this song is amazing. I really hope some of the secondary melodies return in later chapters, I really loved those.

Vs. Susie
SONG LENGTH -- 1:21 (#5)
KEY WORDS -- EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Oh my god. This theme. I love it. It fits Susie perfectly, especially at this point of DELTARUNE. But it got even better
when I saw a comment on the YouTube video for this song that talked about the low piano parts in the second half, representing Susie's past with pianos... like holy fuck, that hits as hard as H&D's Doctor piano. I really, and I mean REALLY,
REALLY hope this theme returns, whether it be the normal route or the weird route (preferably the weird route

KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, FREEDOM-REAL, GASTER-REAL
DESCRIPTION -- Ah, THE WORLD REVOLVIN

And especially TWR's Gastery extension on said motif, it goes INCREDIBLY hard. And of course, the Don't Forget motif is absolutely phenomenal. Toby Fox absolutely cooked on this peak

DESCRIPTION -- Okay, you already knew it was gonna be here. Yeah I absolutely adore this song. It goes hard as hell, it's got the incredibly well inserted Lost Girl motif, it's everything you could've wanted from Raise Up Your Bat! Ever Higher
SONG LENGTH -- 1:27 (#9)
KEY WORDS -- CHILL, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- Definitely a favourite of mine in the Chapter 4 OST, but unfortunately it has to be low because I was left very disappointed that the song didn't really do much with its melody. It's really cool for what it is, but I just feel like it could've done way more. You'd figure that for a theme used for a time-based room, the song would go faster over time, similarly to Sonic 3's Special Stage music, right? Well, sadly it doesn't here, which is sad, but at least it's still really good despite that. Perhaps someone could make a version of this song with that idea?

Catswing
SONG LENGTH -- 1:58 (#5)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- When Toby Fox originally released the unused Sneaking theme, I absolutely loved it, and it only made me more excited for the upcoming chapters. So this is basically a battle theme version of that, with Spamton's motifs sneakily put in. I don't know how Tricky Tony did it, but the Spamton motifs actually fit perfectly somehow? And when you notice some of the more subtle Spamton motifs, the song only gets that much better. Perfectly fits the upbeat yet mysterious likeness that is the Mikes. Say, who is Mike again...?

In fact, I think it's better than Rude Buster in a way, with a majestic brass section, and amazing harmony as usual! And of course, the inclusion of the Don't Forget motif is incredible. If this is truly 'Battle 2', then I'll be looking forward to hearing this once more in Chapter 5 and onwards.

KEY WORDS -- FUNKY, EPIC
DESCRIPTION -- If Dark Sanctuary is so good (it'd probably go in #8.5), then why isn't there a Second Sanctuary?... OH WAIT! There is! Yeah, this is yet another incredible track, with the 12/8 AND the 5/4 time signatures, no less! And yes, they are done phenomenally. Just... incredible work here. I cannot imagine a better theme for the Sanctuaries than this!

SPAWN
SONG LENGTH -- 1:11 (#10)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, TENSE
DESCRIPTION -- This is a surprisingly simple track, and yet it is incredibly (god, I really need a bigger vocabulary...) tense, epic (as I said, need a bigger vocabulary), and of course it goes hard. Perfectly fits the fear surrounding you during this fight, and that will continue to be prevalent in another song...

Neverending Night
SONG LENGTH -- 1:39 (#8)
KEY WORDS -- CHILL, GODLIKE
DESCRIPTION -- Toby Fox just dropped Don't Forget entirely, and decided to give this phenomenal song. Literally wouldn't change one thing. Perfect melody, perfect harmony, perfect... just. Perfect. And yet, there's some songs that are just... that bit more perfect.

The Third Sanctuary
SONG LENGTH -- 4:07 (#1)
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY, EPIC, CLIMATIC, WHAT-THE-FUCK-IS-A-TIME-SIGNATURE
DESCRIPTION -- Everyone loves The Third Sanctuary, especially including me. I literally have it as my Discord ringtone. So, imagine Second Sanctuary, but somehow with even crazier time signatures, that are somehow done EVEN BETTER. Just... amazing all around. Melody, harmony, structure, amazing. I can gladly call this my third-favourite track in all of DELTARUNE's OST... so far.

Hammer of Justice
SONG LENGTH -- 2:13 (#4)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, FUNKY, FREEDOM-REAL
DESCRIPTION -- Incredible extension on Spear of Justice's melody! Awesome melody and harmony as usual, and MAN, that banjo section... that's a bangin' part, my man.
(YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG I'VE BEEN WAITING TO SAY THAT.)
And of course, the Freedom motif is incorporated probably better than it's ever been! I love the more subtlety in the motif in this song, possibly implying that Gerson is, in fact, free, but by his own terms. Now that... is what I like to call fucking epic. Just an amazing song. Keep cooking, Toby Fox.

GUARDIAN
SONG LENGTH -- 3:46 (#2)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, GODLIKE
DESCRIPTION -- In a way, I have similar feelings with this song to BLOCK TALES' Hatred, in that I love the switching sections between dread and hope, except that's even MORE prevalent here! The dreadful section is more dreadful, and my god. The section that implies that there may be hope after all? It is. FUCKING AMAZING. Still gives me goosebumps even now, because the harmony is just... SO FUCKING PEAK AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Please, please please please, listen to this if you haven't already. It's absolutely amazing.

With Hope Crossed On Our Hearts
SONG LENGTH -- 1:39 (#7)
KEY WORDS -- CHILL, EMOTIONAL, OH-MY-GOD-I-MIGHT-ACTUALLY-GENUINELY-CRY
DESCRIPTION -- Ultimately GUARDIAN is better, but just... oh my fucking god. My eyes still water up listening to this song, and those drums... absolutely beautiful. Both before and after Chapter 4, this music fits perfectly. It feels like a bittersweet farewell to the cheerful tone that was the first 3 chapters. And yet, it also feels like a greeting for what's to come... I just love this song. Everything, the melody, the drums, just... everything. I love everything about it. If I could listen to this song while I sleep I absolutely would, but I don't have earbuds, unfortunately.
I can gladly call this song... my favourite song, possibly out of any other.
NOT just DELTARUNE.

* (As you finish the climax section... you realise only 90 songs have been ranked.)
* (After realising that so few songs were ranked, you decided to look back through the ranking and noticed something in the section of Deltarune...)
* (Some of the descriptions' letters were
bolded and in
italics.)
* (After going through each letter, you get... something which... doesn't make any sense whatsoever.)
* (You take a closer look at it and see that it likely just has gone through a caesar cipher, so after some trial and error, you get...)
* (...uh oh.)
Hmhmhm... who said we weren't counting my own songs?
SECRET // DEHYDRATEDWATER???
You weren't expecting this, did you? But yeah, for this section I WILL include links because you'll take 46 years looking for my music otherwise.

A New EraSONG LENGTH -- 2:04 (#6)
KEY WORDS -- CHILL, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- Welcome to the section where I rank my OWN songs! Since these are my own songs, you'd think I have the most to say about these songs specifically... and you'd be right! This first song is heavily inspired by 8-Bit Sonic 2's Bad Ending, and by heavily inspired, I mean I literally stole several aspects from it. But for what it is, that being a song to celebrate how many followers I had on Scratch then, it's pretty good! Nothing else to really note, I guess I can say it's not really something I'd listen to every once in a while. In fact, that's the case for most of these songs!

It Ends Here. (VIP Remix of ""Minor" Inconvenience")
SONG LENGTH -- 1:52 (#8)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- This is the first of two songs where I was pretty good at music by now, but I didn't know how to do drums properly, so I very annoyingly didn't do the hihats correctly... at all. So throughout the song there's just an annoying hi-hat noise every beat. Fun. And I'm not gonna fix that either, you're gonna feel the pain I felt listening to that fuckass hi-hat sound, ruining these two songs. In other words, yeah this is just pretty decent. Harmony's pretty cool, and it's got a decently memorable melody. Yeah, it's just cool.

Rooftop Ruckus B-SIDE (
Rooftop Ruckus by
Cira)
SONG LENGTH -- 2:10 (#5)
KEY WORDS -- FUNKY, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Okay so storytime. A while back, I would do """"""""""remixes"""""""""" of songs where I just changed the notes, drumbeats, and not much else. This is the first time I finally stop acknowledging them as remixes, because it just... isn't that. But this "B-Side" was pretty neat, especially that VERY last part, holy fuck I love that. Besides that, it's just... good. I can't really compliment it much more because this is literally just a copy of another song but with different patterns here and there.

Green BeatsSONG LENGTH -- 1:46 (#10)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, FUNKY
DESCRIPTION -- Okay, I actually like this one quite a bit! It's got a nice beat to it, and a really catchy melody, but there's a problem... uh, I kinda only really came up with one melody. And didn't do any more of them. So it kinda just... ended up being repetitive. Yeah, I don't know what the fuck I was thinking. Maybe I'll remake this one in the future.

IndividualisticSONG LENGTH -- 1:46 (#9)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- This is probably one of my first songs that I found genuinely good, and honestly that kinda still stands to this day. The melody's really catchy (except for that really weird middle section), especially the high note melody, and really fun to play on piano (again except for the middle section because I literally forgot how it went

)! The bass is pretty cool, and it's got a nice beat to it! It's not perfect, again it has that really weird middle section, but it's great! Might consider remaking this one too.

InjusticeSONG LENGTH -- 1:53 (#7)
KEY WORDS -- EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Yeah this one is also pretty cool! It's definitely not got as strong of a beat, but it's still got a catchy melody, and its middle section isn't abysmal this time! This song all started from an experiment with a bass instrument, and I was so obsessed with it that I kept it playing the same pattern for most of the song, which was... not a good idea. It ends up having the bass sometimes not matching up with the chords, so that sucks... hmm, maybe I'll remake this one too.

Drawn Forever (VIP Remix of "Permanent Ink")
SONG LENGTH -- 3:12 (#2)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC-BUT-ACTUALLY, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Definitely one of my favourites, it's got a great beat, really catchy melody, great structure, so it really pisses me off when this is the second of two songs to have that weird hi-hat problem. Literally everything but that is really great, and that fuckass hi-hat brings it down SO much... I might just remake this one too, just because of that stupid hi-hat.

PENUMBRA PHANTASM - Dehy MixSONG LENGTH -- 3:40 (#1)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC
DESCRIPTION -- Okay, so imagine those takes of PENUMBRA PHANTASM that every DELTARUNE fan and their grandmother made, yeah? Okay, now imagine that if it didn't go super fucking hard. That's, like, the majority of this song. I mean, it's fine, pretty cool actually, but not something to the likes of Drawn Forever. So then you may be wondering, why is it so high up? Well, I said the MAJORITY of the song. When the last quarter of the song kicks in, then it really gets good, ESPECIALLY the drop,
OOH. And the post-drop too, I love that part! So it's pretty cool, but it gets REALLY cool at... the end... yeah. Still good though! Might consider redoing this one as well...

SONG LENGTH -- 2:21 (#4)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, 5/4-IS-AWESOME
DESCRIPTION -- Okay, so after months of music block, I finally managed to make this for a school composition project, and... yeah, it's definitely my best original song yet. And those 5/4 parts... yeah I cooked. Ooh, and the clashing in the second 5/4 part too! AND that one suspended chord, that one really hits! Yeah, this is just a great song! A Special Remix V4 (Remix of
A Special Year by
Cira)
SONG LENGTH -- 2:40 (#3)
KEY WORDS -- FAST-PACED, EPIC, CLIMATIC, PEAK
DESCRIPTION -- Storytime again! As you can see in the title of this remix, I made three other remixes and uh... yeah they were kinda horrible? However this one was... like... an ACTUAL remix?? HOLY SHIT??? And it's like... REALLY GOOD????? HUH????????? Like... this might be crazy, but I PREFER THIS OVER THE ORIGINAL SONG??????????????????????????????? HOW THE FUCK?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? In all seriousness, it's got a really nice beat (and yes one of the drumbeats was inspired by ULTRAKILL), and it's really catchy! You know, this remix gives me hope that maybe someday I can make something to the likes of
DELTARUNE... huh? Why is that text linked to something?? Well, I guess you go ahead and click it, see what it's got to offer I guess??
